What is Mastering?
The Mastering phase begins with the outbound audio from the mixing stage;
it comprises several processes whose overall goal is to reach the highest
performance of the audio material
Mastering process has different objectives:
-
- 1- Audio enhancement: Improves the audio sonority, enhancing some
attractive aspects of the mix, to achieve a thicker, wider sound, with
more punch, etc.
2- Standardized Level: Looks to achieve competitive levels of volume and
equalization in comparison to other products in the market.
3- Sense of homogenization: Looks to unify the mixing differences that can
come up along the tracks that compose the album, achieving a final
homogenous product.
4- Even though it is not an objective, mastering can correct some errors
or deficiencies that the mix may contain, bringing up or lowering some
frequencies which affect the sound of each instrument within the mix.
Mastering is more
than just a technical process; it’s involved in the artistic production
defining the record’s final sound, bringing the producer’s idea into
reality.

La Nave de Oseberg’s
mission is to develop high quality products, technically and artistically.
Therefore we would like to introduce our New Analogue Mastering System.
Manley Slam! –
Mastering Version
This is a tube compressor/limiter, from Manley Labs, California, which
works with 2 compressors and limiters: Opto and FET.
This processor compresses the signal and limits peaks, maximizing the
audio and achieving an incredible quality. It also counts with an
exclusive converter D/A A/D by Manley Labs; to get the best conversion
quality found in the market, to achieve an optimum result.

-Warm sound in all
instruments
-Excellent presence in vocals and guitars
-Intense punch in drums and percussion
-Depth in lower frequencies.
The Manley Slam integrates all these qualities, keeping the dynamics and
the artistic criteria of the original mix.

EQ API 560
It is an analogue graphic equalizer, which allows us “to color” the mix,
enriching the final result.

- Digital/Analogue
Mastering
This Mastering system is
specially designed for the artist that pursuits a high quality result that
stands out from other products in the market with a incredible price.
We combine the speed and the
flexibility of the digital audio with the warmth and the color of analogue
processes.
- Digital Processes
- In the first stage,
the digital phase we work with different types of compression,
equalization, harmonic exciters, limiters and reverbs, which flexibility
allows to lead the mastering towards the producer's vision.
-

- Analogue Processes
The last stage of the process is the analogue phase. The audio is
processed with a Behringer Magician T1950 tube interfase which adds
warmth and the typical tone of the tubes to the mix, enriching the final
result.

Our philosophy is
based on facts, because to understand the difference you must experience
it. For this reason we offer you a free trial of our mastering system.
